当社メディアジャパンは、2025年3月、滋賀県甲賀市(信楽地域)を訪問し、伝統工芸「信楽焼」を中核とした滋賀県伝統産品の海外展開支援プロジェクト(シンガポール市場向け)を実施しました。
現地関係者の方々との意見交換、商談、市場調査、地域連携を通じて、今後の展開の方向性と課題を共有しました。
■実施内容
●関係者訪問・意見交換・商談
信楽焼の生産者様、流通業者様、業界団体様と個別商談および夕食を兼ねた交流を実施。
今後の海外展開に向けたニーズ・課題・ビジョンを共有しました。
●伝統産品以外への展開検討
信楽焼以外の伝統工芸品についても可能性を探るべく、高島市・近江八幡市などを訪問。
宿泊業・外食業との連携モデルについて現地調査を実施し、インバウンド需要を見据えた「旅中消費・旅後消費」への活用可能性も検討しました。

●滞在中の商談・交流を通じて、信楽焼および関連伝統産品の海外展開における実務課題と方向性を具体化
●伝統工芸と観光・ホテル・飲食産業の連携モデルの構築可能性を確認

本プロジェクトで得られた知見をもとに、今後は信楽焼および他地域伝統産品の海外展開支援プランを具体化してまいります。
Media Japan Managing Director Takeshi Naito visited Koka City (Shigaraki area), Shiga Prefecture, to carry out an overseas expansion support project focused on Shigaraki ware and other traditional crafts of Shiga Prefecture, targeting the Singapore market.
Through on-site discussions, business meetings, market research, and local collaboration, the project aimed to explore future directions and identify key challenges for international development.

●Meetings and Business Discussions with Local Stakeholders
Media Japan met with Shigaraki ware producers, distributors, and industry associations for individual consultations and networking dinners.
The discussions centered on identifying export challenges, market needs, and a shared vision for expanding Shigaraki ware and related products into overseas markets.
●Exploration Beyond Shigaraki Ware
To broaden the project’s scope, additional field visits were made to Takashima City and Omihachiman City to assess the potential of other traditional crafts.
On-site research also examined collaboration models with the hospitality and F&B industries, exploring opportunities for linking traditional crafts to inbound tourism and post-travel consumption.
■Outcomes
●The meetings and exchanges helped clarify practical challenges and strategic directions for the overseas development of Shigaraki ware and other traditional crafts.
●Potential collaboration models were identified, connecting traditional crafts with hotels, restaurants, and tourism industries.
●The project served as a valuable foundation for Media Japan to strengthen its role as a bridge between regional craftsmanship and global markets.
Moving forward, Media Japan will develop concrete support plans for the international expansion of Shigaraki ware and other regional crafts, leveraging the insights gained from this initiative.
